The article outlines the career of Gregory Crewdson on the occasion of his retrospective at the Fotomuseum in Winterthur. Through an analysis of six photographic series, the author attempts to unravel the mysteries of Crewdson's images by understanding the hybrid form of his compositions between reality and surrealism, how he constructs his images, and how he implements a particular narrative from series to series.

With the real artificiality, the true "falseness," of his images, Matthieu Brouillard eloquently captures the imagination while deflecting the spectator's regard toward what must be called a reflection on the very essence of photography. His large photos seem to combine what is held out as realistic reporting with a playful staging that refutes this evidence by producing at the same time a "play within a play" of photography and its history.

Mettant le travail de Janieta Eyre en parallèle avec celui d’autres artistes - la poétesse Sylvia Plath, la photographe Diane Arbus, les cinéastes David Lynch et Alekseï Balabanov -, l’auteur estime qu’elle a élaboré un genre personnel de « grotesque mélancolique ». Selon lui, la mélancolie n’aura jamais paru aussi séduisante que dans la récente série de l’artiste, What I haven't told you (2003-2006). Il fait appel aux écrits de Rudolf Otto sur la crainte du sacré, puis souligne la parenté de sensibilité entre le travail d’Eyre et Malpertuis de Jean Ray, chef-d’oeuvre du grotesque romantique. D’après La métamorphose de Kakfa, il avance que, chez Eyre, l’identité est complètement mutable et que ses métamorphoses frôlent le sublime.

Since the nineteenth century, the rule for collecting photographic "landscapes" has allowed a certain "tyranny of the landscape" to endure and proliferate, making it so that the capturing of places and territories of the world could no longer be admitted without the mediation of photography. With a few observations on current art-photography practices, offering a short inventory of current landscape and geography themes, the author proposes that artists need to take a critical look at this phenomenon.

Peu de gens savent que Gabor Szilasi a pris des images photographiques lorsqu’il a fui la Hongrie pour venir au Canada en 1957, ainsi qu’à son retour à Budapest plus de vingt années plus tard. La photographie a joué un rôle central dans l’expérience de Szilasi, agissant comme moyen d’articuler et de négocier à la fois la disjonction entre sa mémoire et le temps présent Prises lors de son exil et de son retour, ces images représentent des moments clés de sa vie et annoncent l’attention portée au temps et au changement dans son oeuvre. Szilasi s’est servi de la photographie pour dénicher le familier sur une terre inconnue, que ce soit le Québec ou Budapest Elle lui a permis d’accepter le changement, la transition, et de revendiquer le droit d’être chez lui.
