Note biographique
Jean Gagnon est actuellement directeur des collections à la Cinémathèque québécoise à Montréal. Titulaire d’un Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Film Production and Film Studies, il a travaillé trois ans au Conseils des arts du Canada avant d’être conservateur associé des arts médiatiques au Musées des beaux-arts du Canada pendant sept ans et directeur général de la Fondation Daniel Langlois pour l’art, la science et la technologie pendant 10 ans. À son parcours s’ajoute des expériences d’enseignement dans plusieurs universités canadiennes ainsi que des expériences de consultation auprès d’organismes culturels. Il a récemment entrepris un doctorat en Études et pratiques des arts à l’Université du Québec à Montréal.

Biographical note
Jean Gagnon is the director of collections at the Cinémathèque québécoise à Montréal. After earning a BA in fine arts, with a major in film production and film studies, he worked at the Canada Council for the Arts for three years before becoming associate curator of media arts at the National Gallery for Canada, a position he held for seven years; he then was executive director of the Daniel Langlois Foundation for Art, Science, and Technology for ten years. He has taught in a number of Canadian universities and acted as a consultant for cultural organizations. Recently, he undertook doctoral studies in art studies and practices at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
