David et l’escalade. La participation de l’enfant en situation de handicap à un sport

Résumé

Cet article a pour vocation de relater au travers d’une approche ethnographique menée en France, les modifications de participation d’un enfant ayant des incapacités dans une communauté de pratique (Wenger, 2005) en escalade en lien avec les dimensions de sa participation que sont, pour Billett (2008), l’engagement et l’affordance. Nous saisirons également toute l’importance de la participation guidée (Rogoff, 1993) pour favoriser sa participation et nous verrons que c’est dans la participation que l’enfant apprend.

Abstract

This article aims to tell through an ethnographic approach conducted in France, a child with disabilities participation changes in a community of climbing practice (Wenger, 2005) in relation with the dimensions of participation that are, for Billett (2008), commitment and affordance. We will also appreciate the importance of guided participation (Rogoff, 1993) in fostering participation, and we will see that it is in the participation that the child learns.
