Mystérieuse pour certains, définitivement adoptée par d’autres, la cartographie cognitive est ici présentée sous les angles de son vocabulaire, des principes qui la régissent, du processus de réalisation, des applications qui en dérivent et des outils qui permettent de la mettre en pratique. Cet article vise essentiellement à fournir des éléments concrets pour mieux comprendre le potentiel de la cartographie en contexte professionnel, qu’il soit générique ou plus spécifiquement documentaire. Il propose également des pistes pour approfondir le sujet. Une carte synthèse du contenu de l’article est proposée en complément de ce résumé textuel.

Abstract

Mind mapping, while a mystery for some, is useful to others. This article outlines the vocabulary, the principles, the means of production, the applications and the tools. Essentially, the author wishes to provide the reader with a better understanding of how mind mapping can be used in a professional setting, either generally or in a library setting. Suggestions to improve one's understanding of the subject are provided. A summary map of the contents of this article compliments this abstract.

Misteriosa para algunos, definitivamente adoptada por otros, la cartografía cognitiva se presenta aquí en función de su vocabulario, principios, proceso de realización, aplicaciones derivadas y herramientas que permiten ponerla en práctica. En este artículo, se enseñan elementos concretos para comprender con más precisión el potencial de la cartografía en un contexto profesional, ya sea genérico o específicamente documental. Asimismo, se propone un lineamiento para profundizar en el tema. Como complemento del resumen, se incluye un gráfico que sintetiza el contenido del artículo.
