Diplômée de l’Université de Montréal, Marie-Ève Marchand a complété une thèse de doctorat en histoire de l’art examinant la spécificité matérielle, spatiale et temporelle de la period room comme dispositif muséal. Ses recherches portent sur les enjeux épistémologiques des stratégies de mise en exposition des arts décoratifs ainsi que sur les renouveaux historiques dans la culture matérielle américaine du dix-neuvième siècle, notamment dans les musées d’art et les intérieurs domestiques aux États-Unis.

Biographical note
Marie-Ève Marchand holds a PhD from the Université de Montréal. Her doctoral thesis in art history examines the material, spatial and temporal specificity of the period room as a museological device. Her research focuses on the epistemological implications of exhibiting decorative art, as well as on historical revivals in American material culture of the 19th century, particularly in art museums and domestic interiors in the USA.
