Tentations proustiennes*

Résumé

Si l’oeuvre proustienne est convoquée par Jacques Derrida dans nombre de ses écrits, c’est le plus souvent par le détour d’une note de bas de page. Pourquoi Derrida n’a-t-il pas encore consacré un ouvrage complet à la Recherche, quand tout semble le prédisposer à le faire ? Serait-ce parce que Proust représente une certaine idée du canon littéraire français ? L’auteure propose de mettre au jour les liens qui existent entre certains textes de Jacques Derrida et la Recherche, afin de montrer comment, par le choix d’un genre hybride, par une lecture à contretemps et une conception de la littérature comme spectre, Proust se manifeste dans l’écriture du philosophe.

Abstract

If Jacques Derrida invokes the Proustian text in a number of his works, it is most often in the form of a footnote. One could wonder why Derrida has not yet written extensively on À la recherche du temps perdu, when everything seems to be directing him towards that aim. Is it because Proust represents a certain idea of the literary French canon ? The author offers to put forth the existing links between Derrida’s texts and the Recherche in order to show how Proust appears in the philosopher’s writing through the choice of a hybrid textual genre, an off-beat practice of reading and the idea of literature as ghost.
