Résumé

Le Moi de Vadeboncoeur que l'on cherche à saisir et à décrire, c'est le Moi qui ne se montre que dans ses livres, son Moi artiste, qui ne doit pas être confondu avec le Moi dans l'artiste que définit la linguistique, ni avec le Moi de l'artiste que décrit la psychanalyse. On parvient à circonscrire le Moi artiste en le définissant d'abord comme une possibilité unique, lieu de tous les commencements, en le saisissant ensuite grâce aux limites que lui impose son appartenance à un monde autre, celui de l'art et, enfin, en contemplant les fruits de son activité créatrice.

Abstract

The self that readers and critics seek to apprehend and to describe in dealing with PierreVadeboncoeur's work is that manifesting itself only in his writings; it should be confounded neither with the Self in the artist as defined by linguistics nor with the Self of the artist as described by psychoanalysis. The artistic Self can be grasped by defining it, first, as a unique possibility, the seat of all beginnings; secondly, through the limits imposed on it by its pertaining to the world of otherness, that of the world of art; and, lastly, through the contemplation of the fruits of its creative activity.
