Note biographique
Lydie Jean-Dit-Pannel vit à Paris. Elle enseigne à l’École nationale supérieure d’art de Dijon. Lors de ses errances à travers les paysages toxiques de la planète, elle s’interroge sur la nécessité de montrer pour alerter. Aventurière solitaire, amoureuse blessée et guerrière survivante, Psyché s’est imposée comme son alter ego artistique. Cette héroïne antique, pensive, est devenue son égérie. À travers elle, dans le sillon de la figure du papillon Monarque qui lui a d’abord servi d’emblème, Lydie Jean-Dit-Pannel dit son désir d’amour et de voyage comme sa déception face à une humanité qui court à sa perte. Dans ses films et ses photographies, elle crée des situations performatives où elle met en jeu son personnage de Psyché au sein de paysages politiques. Elle proteste et s’insurge de façon absurde et poétique en faisant des images. Et il y a toujours une urgence. Urgence à la prise de vue (ne pas se faire voir avant que l’image ne soit dans la boîte, ne pas se faire prendre par les gendarmes ou les gardiens des sites). Urgence à dire. Urgence à montrer. Le corps fragile atteste du danger.
