Biographical note
Philipp Reisner is a lecturer at the American Studies Departments of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His doctoral dissertation on the New English theologian Cotton Mather (1663–1728) appeared in the Reformed Historical Theology series with Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht in 2012. His multidisciplinary research focuses on early modern Anglo-America, religion in America, the histories of childhood, education, and music, and contemporary American poetry, drama, and short fiction. He is preparing a monograph on mysticism and religious motifs in contemporary American poetry.
