RÉSUMÉ

En partant de l'événement de la première installation indépendante des jeunes après leur décohabitation, l'analyse des espaces quittés (la maison des parents) et des espaces investis (le nouveau logement) ainsi que des objets qui circulent entre ces lieux permet de suivre concrètement le processus d'individualisation des jeunes par rapport à la famille d'origine. Ce cheminement est caractérisé par une attitude ambivalente : une proximité maintenue avec la famille en même temps qu'une distance réclamée. Il y a partage entre le Soi « enfant », attaché à la famille d'origine, inscrit dans les objets, dans les lieux de la maison parentale, et le Soi «jeune adulte », en train de se construire et ayant besoin d'une rupture avec le monde familier pour se forger. C'est cet arbitrage continuel entre proximité et distance, et attachement et détachement, qui est au cœur du processus d'individualisation des jeunes.

ABSTRACT

This article follows the process of separation of young people from their parents. It does so by a concrete analysis of the young person's first experience of leaving home, of the space left (the parental home) and the new space occupied (their new home), as well as of the objects which circulate between the two. Ambivalence characterises this transition. Closeness is maintained with the family, at the same time as distance is sought. Two selves exist. There is the "child" self, attached to the family and inscribed in the objects and space of the parental home. There is also the self of the "young adult", in the process of becoming and needing a break with the familiar world so as to create itself. The process of separation of young people from their parents involves a constant balance between proximity and distance, attachment and detachment.

RESUMEN

Partiendo del acontecimiento de la primera instalaciôn independiente de los jôvenes tras su descohabiraciôn, el anâlisis de los espacios abandonados (la casa paterna) y los espacios ocupados (el nuevo alojamiento), asi como de los objetos que circulan entre estos lugares, permite seguir concretamente en proceso de individualizaciôn de los jôvenes en relation con la familia de origen. Este paso se caracteriza por una actitud ambivalente : proximidad mantenida con la familia, al mismo tiempo que distancia reclamada. Existe una partition entre el Si "hijo", apegado a la familia de origen, inscrito en los objetos, en los lugares de la casa paterna, y el Sî "joven adulto", en vias de construirse y con necesidad de ruprura con el mundo familiar para forjarse. Este arbitraje constante entre proximidad y distancia, y entre apego y desapego, esta al centro del proceso de individualizaciôn de los jôvenes.
