Résumé
Cet article permet d’affiner la compréhension de l’influence de la structure de financement sur les associations de la francophonie canadienne, d’une part en établissant un pont entre le champ des connaissances sur les organismes et la gouvernance de la francophonie canadienne et celui portant sur le tiers secteur en contexte canadien et, d’autre part, en s’appuyant sur un sondage mené auprès de 107 organismes de représentation et de défense des francophones en situation minoritaire. Les résultats présentés portent sur les sources de financement, les types de financement et l’influence de ces sources sur les priorités et les actions des organismes francophones. Cet article argumente que l’influence de la structure de financement sur la dynamique des associations n’est pas le propre de la francophonie canadienne et doit être comprise dans un environnement plus large, notamment dans le contexte d’une imbrication aux mécanismes de gouvernance étatique.

Abstract
This article contributes to a better understanding of the influence of the funding structure on Canadian Francophone associations, on the one hand, by bridging the gap between the field of knowledge on organizations and governance in the Canadian Francophonie and that of the third sector in Canada and, on the other hand, by relying on a survey of 107 organizations representing and defending Francophone communities. The results presented focus on the sources and types of funding and the influence of these sources on the priorities and actions of Francophone organizations. This contribution argues that the influence of funding structures on association dynamics is not unique to the Canadian Francophonie and must be understood in a broader environment, particularly in the context of an overlap with state governance mechanisms.
