- IgNobel,
- Prix Darwin,
- fonctionnement de la science,
- stupidité
Abstract
While the text from the latest issue’s (vol. 46, no. 2) Controverse column tackled the dark side of science, the present article presents a lighter facet of scientific research and its connivance with stupidity. Two elements will be discussed: the Ig Nobel prizes and the Darwin Awards. In the former, the recipients could be considered researchers of the absurd. In the latter, they are thanked for their contribution to the improvement of the gene pool as a result of having died or being unable to reproduce following their stupid achievement.
