Vers une économie sociale et solidaire ? Towards a Social and Solidarity Economy?

Résumé

Il existe aujourd’hui deux conceptions distinctes : économie sociale et économie solidaire, dont la complémentarité est encore largement à construire pour arriver à une économie sociale et solidaire qui se représente comme unitaire dans sa diversité. Mais l’économie sociale comme l’économie solidaire ne prennent sens que par rapport à une économie plurielle, c’est-à-dire une économie ne se réduisant pas à la société de capitaux et au marché, dans laquelle plusieurs logiques économiques peuvent se déployer. C’est en accentuant les coopérations sur des projets concrets entre économie sociale et économie solidaire, en confirmant les modifications positives des rapports aux pouvoirs publics, à la recherche et aux mouvements sociaux qu’il est concevable d’arriver à une stratégie d’économie sociale et solidaire.

Abstract

The social economy and the solidarity economy are two distinct concepts today. Much work still remains to make them complementary so as to achieve a social and solidarity economy that is unified in its diversity. The social economy, like the solidarity economy, only makes sense in relation to a pluralistic economy (i.e., an economy that is not reduced to corporations and markets) in which different economic rationales can flourish. By increasing cooperation between the social economy and the solidarity economy on concrete projects and by reinforcing the positive changes in the relationships with government, research and social movements, a strategy for a social and solidarity economy is conceivable.
