Résumé

À partir de son expérience de recherche l’auteur s’interroge sur les rapports entre savoir et action. Dans ce contexte la recherche-action doit être considérée comme une forme d’engagement du chercheur qui ne va pas sans soulever un certain nombre de difficultés. Si le chercheur doit alors assumer de nouveaux rôles et fonctions par rapport aux groupes avec lesquels il se lie, il demeure néanmoins inscrit à l’intérieur d’un système scientifique dont il dépend.

La communauté scientifique impose des règles strictes et l’implication sociale comporte ses exigences particulières. Dans le cadre de la recherche-action le chercheur doit donc se situer à la fois par rapport aux acteurs officiels, ceux qui commanditent le projet, et par rapport aux acteurs qui constituent, sur le terrain, le véritable objet de la recherche. Le défi de la recherche-action est de gérer cette double allégeance.

Abstract

On the basis of his research experience, the author reflects on the relationship between knowledge and action. He considers that research-action should be seen as a problematical type of commitment by the researcher. While on the one hand, the researcher must take on new roles and functions in relation to the group with which he is working, it is nevertheless true that he remains part of the scientific system upon which he is dependent.

The scientific community imposes strict rules and social commitment has its own particular demands. In the context of a research-action project, the researcher is therefore responsible to both the official organizations which set up the project and the actors in the field who are the real object of research. The challenge of research-action is to deal with this double allegiance.

Resumen

A partir de su experiencia de investigación-acción, el autor se interroga sobre las relaciones entre el saber y la acción. En este contexto, la investigación-acción debe ser comprendida como una forma de implicación del investigador que no está libre de un cierto número de dificultades. Si el investigador debe asumir nuevos roles y funciones en relación a los grupos a los cuales se liga, él no escapa, sin embargo, al sistema científico del que depende.

La comunidad científica impone reglas estrictas, y la implicación social plantea exigencias que le son propias. En el marco de la investigación-acción, el investigador debe por lo tanto situarse simultáneamente en relación a los actores oficiales, que son los que comanditan el proyecto, y en relación a los actores, que representan en el terreno el objecto real de la investigación. El desafío de la investigación-acción es justamente el de manejar esta doble pertenencia.
