Cet article consiste en une célébration des travaux et du rayonnement de Jean-Jacques Nattiez, pionnier de la sémiologie musicale, à l’occasion des 80 ans de celui-ci en 2025, se concentrant surtout sur sa production scientifique des dix dernières années. Il s’agit d’une mise à jour d’un texte paru en introduction à l’ouvrage collectif que les deux auteurs ont publié à l’occasion des 70 ans du professeur émérite à la Faculté de musique de l’Université de Montréal, The Dawn of Music Semiology : Essays in Honor of Jean-Jacques Nattiez (University of Rochester Press, 2017). S’y trouve notamment une proposition de catégorisation des travaux de ce chercheur hautement interdisciplinaire.
