Abstract
This study examines the mediating role of executive functions in the relationship between dispositional mindfulness and psychological health among parents receiving services for their child with an intellectual disability. The results indicate that the effect of attention and emotional regulation is particularly important in the case of distress. By raising parents' awareness of the benefits of mindfulness, they could themselves adopt a new strategy for coping with the imperatives of daily life through the formal and informal practice of meditation.
