Abstract
How does the concentration of media ownership influence the diversity of content ? A comparison of the coverage of Quebec work stoppages by Le Soleil, before and after its integration into the Gesca group, with those published during the same times by La Presse, Gesca’s largest daily, and Le Devoir, an independent daily, reveal the uniformity of content of the Le Soleil and La Presse, in part due to collaboration between the newsrooms of these two papers.
