Abstract
This methodological article proposes to investigate hypnosis as a post-qualitative method for understanding the researcher's affects within the context of autoethnography and affective ethnography. Building upon literature surrounding the affect turn, the objective of this research is to examine the potential of hypnosis in acknowledging and deepening the researcher's reflexivity by considering their emotional experiences. To this end, the researcher took part in a hypnosis session, which was audio-recorded immediately transcribed into a logbook. The article proposes an exploratory analysis grid for capturing the researcher's affects during hypnosis, integrating inquiries, verbal responses, mental imagery, and physical sensations experienced in trance. This approach aims to uncover the method's potential in exploring affects, thereby contributing a critical dimension to future ethnographic research.
