L’intervenant social face à l’aidant naturel The social worker and family caregivers

Résumé

L'auteur croit qu'il est nécessaire de faire participer le citoyen à la résolution de problèmes psychologiques et sociaux et nous propose une étude comparative des caractéristiques propres à deux types d'intervenants : l'intervenant social ou professionnel et l'aidant naturel. Plus près des gens qu'il aide, il est plus facile à l'aidant naturel de donner le meilleur de lui-même, parce qu'il n'est pas empêtré dans des normes bureaucratiques. L'auteur estime que toute collaboration avec l'aidant naturel doit s'appuyer sur le respect de l'aide naturelle, sans chercher à la modifier ou à la récupérer.

SUMMARY

The author believes in the necessity of enlisting citizen participation in the resolution of psychological and social problems, and proposes a comparative study of the characteristics of two types of intermediaries : the social or professional intermediary, and the natural helper. Closer to those he helps, and unencumbered by bureaucratic norms, it is easier for the natural helper to give his best. The author esteems that collaboration with the natural helper must be based on a respect for natural helper, without seeking its modification or co-optation.
