La hiérarchie fondée sur les tâches : une méthode d’analyse Hierarchy Based on Tasks: A Method of Analysis

Résumé

Les méthodes utilisées juqu'à présent pour étudier la hiérarchie ne distinguent guère entre les relations dyadiques et les relations groupâtes, et déterminent mal, à notre avis, les rapports entre hiérarchie et coopération. Nous présentons ici une méthode d'analyse de la hiérarchie fondée sur les tâches, tenant compte tant des relations d'un individu à un autre que des relations de chacun à l'ensemble du groupe. L'exemple permettant d'illustrer la méthode est celui d'un groupe de trois garçons de huit à dix ans, effectuant un dessin collectif. En conclusion, nous comparons la hiérarchie fondée sur les tâches à la hiérarchie fondée sur l'accès au matériel, et nous formulons quelques hypothèses à propos des liens entre hiérarchie, tâche et coopération, au cours du développement de l'enfant.

Summary

To date;, methods used to study hierarchy have scarcely made any distinction between dyadic relations and group relations, and define inadequately, from our point of view, the relationships between hierarchy and cooperation. A method of analysing hierarchy based on tasks is presented here, talking into account relations of one individual with another as well as relations of each individual with the group as a whole. The example used to illustrate the method is that of three boys ranging from eight to ten years old, who worked together on a collective drawing. The paper concludes with a comparison of hierarchy based on tasks and hierarchy based on access to materials, and some hypotheses concerning the links between hierarchy, task and cooperation in the course of child development are formulated.

Resumen

Los métodos utilizados hasta ahora para estudiar la jerarquía no distinguen mucho entre las relaciones binarias (dyadiques) y las relaciones de grupos y determinan mal, desde nuestro punto de vista, las relaciones entre jerarquía y cooperación. Presentamos un método de análisis de la jerarquía fundado sobre las tareas, que tienen en cuenta tanto las relaciones de un individuo a otro que las relaciones de cada uno al conjunto del grupo. El ejemplo que permite ilustrar el método es aquél de un grupo de tres niños de ocho a diez años efectuando un dibujo colectivo. En conclusión comparamos la jerarquía fundada sobre las tareas a la jerarquía fundada sobre el acceso al material y formulamos algunas hipótesis a propósito de las ligazones entre la jerarquía, tarea y cooperación, en el curso del desarrollo del niño.
