Biographical note
Thomas Kemple is Professor of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. His writings on Simmel and other classical thinkers have appeared in the Journal of Classical Sociology and Theory, Culture & Society. He co-edited the Anthem Companion to Georg Simmel, 2016, and is author of Reading Marx Writing, 1995; Intellectual Work and the Spirit of Capitalism: Weber’s Calling, 2012; and Simmel, 2018.
