Biographical notes
Matthieu Amat after a PhD on Simmel’s philosophy of culture at the University of Paris 1, he is First Assistant in Modern and Contemporary Philosophy at the University of Lausanne. He has published several articles on Simmel’s thought, as well as a book (Le relationnisme philosophique de Georg Simmel. Une idée de la culture. Paris: Honoré Champion, 2018) and has translated Simmel’s Schulpädagogik into French (Paris: Circé, 2020). His current research focuses on German philosophy and philosophy of culture, and more specifically on the Journal Logos (1910-1933). He is currently preparing a book with Carole Maigné: Philosophie de la culture. Paris: Vrin, 2020.
Fabio D’Andrea teaches Sociology at the University of Perugia. He now works on a complex model of knowledge where reason, symbolico-imaginal and emotional components join their heuristic power. He is co-founder and secretary of the Imaginary Section of the Italian Sociological Association. Among his books: Un mondo a spirale. Riflessioni a partire da Michel Maffesoli (Liguori, 2014) and (with A. Lombardinilo) Il libro tra carta e pixel. Traiettorie empiriche e costellazioni immaginali (Gechi, 2017).
