RÉSUMÉ

Dieu est désormais absent de la sociologie. Il a quitté d'abord la théorie sociologique générale et par la suite, il s'est retiré de la sociologie religieuse. De surcroît, en tant qu'élément de l'idéologie et source de mobilisation intellectuelle et politique, il est tombé en désuétude. Au moment où la théologie chrétienne cherche son inspiration du côté des sciences et, particulièrement, des sciences humaines, la sociologie n'a donc plus rien à lui offrir. À part le fait social, dépouillé de ses oripeaux, ramené à sa misère et son absurdité. Le fait social dans sa pesanteur.

ABSTRACT

God is, even now, absent from sociology. In the beginning, he abandoned sociological theory in general, and subsequently, left the field of the sociology of religion. In addition, he fell into disuse as an element contributing to ideologies or as a source of intellectual and political mobilisation. At the very moment that Christian theology looked for inspiration from the sciences, sociology had nothing to offer it. Except, that is, for social facts, stripped of their tawdry finery, reduced to their own misery, absurdity, and dullness.
