Résumé
L’article examine la traduction des faits culturels et les transformations opérées lors du passage d’une langue/culture à une autre. Les stratégies préconisées par certains théoriciens pour la traduction des faits culturels seront abordées afin de déterminer la stratégie à privilégier. Pour déterminer le contexte et les circonstances du choix d’une solution traductionnelle au détriment d’une autre, nous examinerons La nuit sacrée de Tahar Ben Jelloun publié en 1987, et ses deux traductions en arabe réalisées en Égypte en 1988 et en 1993.

Abstract
The article examines the translation of cultural elements, as well as the changes that occur from language to language, from one culture to another. We will study strategies employed by authors for translating cultural elements, in order to identify a preferred strategy. To determine the context and circumstances necessary to choose one strategy over another we will examine La nuit sacrée, a novel by Tahar Ben Jelloun, published in 1987, and two Arabic translations undertaken and published in Egypt in 1988 and 1993.
