Résumé
L’augmentation démographique du cerf sur le massif des Vosges induit aujourd’hui une situation qui selon les acteurs n’a encore jamais été atteinte. Le retour de l’animal, perçu comme un ré-ensauvagement du territoire, fait naître des oppositions quant à l’usage des ressources forestières et agricoles. Aujourd’hui l’ampleur des compétitions entre des usages concurrentiels de l’environnement est grande. Une enquête par questionnaire, auprès des usagers du massif des Vosges (Est de la France), nous renseigne sur les valeurs et représentations mobilisées. Si la définition des valeurs attribuées par les acteurs à l’espace forestier et au cerf semble individuelle, cette dernière est liée à la trajectoire de l’individu, c’est-à-dire à ses groupes d’appartenance, dont sa profession et son statut dans une organisation de type association, syndicat, entreprise publique. Ainsi, le statut apparaît comme ayant une influence majeure.

Abstract
The demographic increase of deer on the massif des Vosges now induces a situation which according to the actors has never yet been reached. The comeback of the savage, this rewilding of the territory, gives rise to oppositions with regard to the use of forest and agricultural resources. Today, the scale of competition between competitive uses of the environment is high. A survey with the users of the massif des Vosges (East of France), provides information on the values and representations mobilized by the actors. If the definition of the values attributed to the forest area and deer seems individual, it is linked to the trajectory of the individual, that is, to his or her belonging groups, including his profession and status in an organization such as an association, a trade union, a public enterprise. The status appears to have a major influence.
