The variety of the periodical literature of anthropology is made evident by the analysis of 204 titles in Ulrich's. Published in 26 languages and in 49 countries, the field is however dominated by an overwhelming representation of titles in English. The heterogeneousness of the contents is determined by two factors that have influenced recent anthropological development: interdisciplinarity and the creation of new specialties. Four classifications of the periodicals were evaluated and compared to a statistical typology. Few titles offer indexes to the readership. Several of the 22 indexes studied did not meet the basic criteria outlined in indexation guides and standards.

This study looks at the way in which students give meaning to the examples that are presented to them during educational presentations. Our research objectives are (1) to identify the properties of examples, (2) to observe their impacts for students and (3) to establish connections between their properties and their impacts. Start from 15 individual interviews with university students, we were able to identify twelve specific properties, six distinct ranges of impacts. More over, several connections can be woven between their properties and their effects. To conclude, this study stresses the value and even the necessity, of taking into account the impact of language in pedagogical presentations and to continue research into this specific language practice in order to improve teaching practices.

This article presents a definition of the Pedagogy of Actualization, briefly describes its conceptual foundations and main sources of influence and introduces each of the eight components that are developed more fully by the other articles in this collective work. It attempts to demonstrate that in a dialectic relationship, the Pedagogy of Actualization unites two sources of socialization that are often placed in opposition to each other. One aims at transmitting society’s cultural capital and the other aims at developing capacities of autonomy and critical conscience in individuals and groups. The Pedagogy of Actualization is described as the implementation of a socialisation/autonomization process that targets the full realization of human potential.

In this article, artist-researcher Claudia Bernal approaches, from an autopoietic perspective, the use of literary text as “plastic material” in the creation of an interdisciplinary work. She analyzes different strategies for adapting and integrating three short stories by Gabriel García Márquez (from his 1974 collection, Ojos de perro azul; Des yeux de chien bleu, 2005) into her performative installation L'envers des îles blanches (2014). These strategies mainly involve the visual, sound and performative transposition of the text based on the dialogue between the author's writing and that of the visual artist, an encounter which is grounded in the latter's personal experience.
