1982 — Étude écologique de la végétation forestière du mont Kekeko, région Rouyn-Noranda, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, QuébecAbstract
Daqs le cadre d'une étude écologique, la végétation forestière du Mont Kekeko, dans la région de Rouyn-Noranda, en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (Québec), a été échantillonnée dans 42 stations selon la méthodologie de Whittaker. Les corrununautés végétales se divisent en trois catégories: les stations oligotrophes hydriques et xérigues , dominées par Pinus banksiana ou Picea mariana ou Picea glauca, les stations eutrophes, dominées par Populus balsamifera, Fraxinus nigra, Betula lutea ou Abies balsarrea et les stations mésotrophes avec Betula papyri fera, Populus tremuloides et Acer rubrum comme principaux dominants. Le mouvement de colonisation des années 1930 demeure un parent pauvre de la littérature scientifique actuelle. Tantôt mythifié, tantôt décrié, il n'a donné lieu à aucune analyse véritablement circonstanciée. La thèse s'efforce de combler cette lacune. Parmi les idées maîtresses qui soutiennent la problématique, certaines corroborent ou infirment les allégations des rares chercheurs qui se sont préoccupés de la question, alors que d'autres complètent et dynamisent l'examen du phénomène, ou projettent un éclairage nouveau sur le sujet.
