AB - How such an ergonomically difficult musical instrument as the double tenor pan has been able to spread so widely in steelbands, whereas the topologies of these metallophones from Trinidad and Tobago rather evolved towards rationalization ? This paper is trying to understand what makes this instrument cognitively difficult. It will then analyze its success. We’ll see that the story of its creator, Bertie Marshall, is a key element in the representation towards it.
