Résumé
Après un bref examen des liens que différentes sociétés établissent entre l’humain et le cochon, cet article décrit le pansula, un rituel de divination observé en 2012 chez les Alangans de Mindoro, aux Philippines. L’auteur montre comment le rituel se perpétue dans le contexte de la christianisation. Le porc/cochon y apparaît comme un médiateur entre différentes traditions. Doté de capacités divinatoires mais pas encore un agent à part entière, son corps et ses entrailles sont susceptibles d’informer les humains de leur futur destinée, à condition que ces derniers sachent interpréter les signes qu’il livre, d’où l’injonction que les participants réitèrent avant sa mise à mort : il faut savoir « faire crier » le cochon. Sa mort suscite peu d’affects de la part des Alangans qui attendent plutôt de lui qu’il facilite la communication entre les vivants, les non-humains et les ancêtres.

Abstract
After a brief review of the various connections that different societies establish between humans and pigs, this paper describes the pansula practice, a divination ritual observed in 2012 among the Alangans of Mindoro, Philippines. The author shows how the ritual continues to be practised in the context of Christianization. Here, the pig appears as a mediator between different traditions. Endowed with a divination capacity, but not yet a full-fledged agent, his body and his entrails may inform people of their future destiny, provided that they listen to the signs that the pig will offer them. This explains the injunction participants always reiterate prior to the pig’s death : one must know how to make the pig « squeal ». The pig’s death does not affect the Alangans very much. They rather expect him to facilitate communication between living people, non-human beings and ancestors.

Resumen
Después de examinar brevemente las conexiones que diferentes sociedades establecen entre el humano y el cochino, este artículo describe la pansula, un rito adivinatorio observado en 2012 entre los Alangans de Mindoro, en Filipinas. El autor muestra cómo el rito se ha cristianizado. El puerco/cochino aparece como un mediador entre diferentes tradiciones. Dotado de capacidades adivinatorias pero no como un agente de pleno derecho, su cuerpo y su entrañas son capaces de informar a los humanos de su destino futuro, a condición de que los hombre sepan interpretar los signos que les ofrece, de ahí la conminación que los participantes reiteran antes de matarlo : hay que saber « hacer gritar » al cochino. Su muerte suscita pocos sentimientos de la parte de los Alangans, quienes más bien esperan que el puerco facilite la comunicación entre los vivos, lo no-humanos y los ancestros.
