Traditionnellement qualitative, la géographie humaine voit ses méthodes d'investigation se diversifier. A la démarche inductive, caractéristique de la géographie humane française il y a encore trente ans, s'ajoute la démarche globale essentiellement statistique et positionnelle. Ce sont les méthodes de cette dernière démarche (modèles « positionnels externes », modèles graphiques —- quadrants — modèles descriptifs internes, méthodes de contrôle des données, etc. . ..) qui font l'objet de cet article.
Abstract
Research techniques in human geography, traditionally qualitative, are becoming increasingly diversified, and inductive analysis, so characteristic of the « French school » of human geography, is now losing ground to more sophisticated techniques of investigation. This article deals with some of these new techniques of quantitative analysis currently in use by geographers.
