L’étude de ces procédés et du rôle de la machinerie mène à une conclusion qui fait voir une des fonctions esthétiques et sociales (possibles) du médium et de l’art. AB - In this article the intricacies of video art are explored through the use of reconstruction. In the light of a paradigmatic analysis of the Canadian production God's Greatest Gift is…, nine theses on aesthetic and functional practices in video art are presented. Studying these practices and the role of technology leads to a conclusion that reveals one of the (possible) aesthetic and social functions of the medium and of the art.
