Abstract
The editor for this issue has gathered fifteen critical texts for this collection writings by Quebec composer Gilles Temblay, brought together under five different themes: aspects of the craft of composition and daily life; the necessary relationship between this Christian faith and musical creation; the present-day soundscape defined by the tripartite division "noise-sound-silence" belonging to a "country-in-the-making", with emphasis on an artist's cultural roots; finally two statements of homage to Serge Garant and Claude Vivier. The collection closes with three appendices: one dealing biographical highlights and a calatogue of Tremblay's works, another containing a list of his writings, and lastly, a discography.
