AB - In this article, the author suggests revisiting the work of Robert-Lionel Séguin by examining three fundamental dimensions of his career, that of ethnohistorian, collector and museologist. An examination of these three vocations helps to shed light on the research networks of which Séguin was very much a part. This approach provides a new look into the critical potential of his work. From these three perspectives, one sees how Séguin contributed to the profound changes that occurred within ethnology between 1950 and 1980 and how he continues to influence these three disciplines.
