Abstract
The Arpik site (JhEv-12) is located on Qikertaaluk Island in Whitley Bay near the south shore of Hudson Strait. Its main feature is a row of stones 60 meters long. The site found in 1996 left us puzzled. In 2001, we decided to excavate it to better understand its function. This article presents the results of the excavation of Pre-Dorset tent rings, and offers a possible explanation regarding the function of its associated row of stones.
