Abstract
Animal sacrifice is one of the rituals prevalent in many socio-cultural contexts, especially in ancient religions such as the biblical sacrificial cult (korban) that disappeared with the destruction of the Second Temple and was replaced by prayers. Nevertheless, religious discourses around this practice continued with comments and statements about the restoration of these rituals, in the event of the reconstruction of the Third Temple. From the analysis of texts from the nineteenth century and contemporary ones (journal articles, religious works, transcriptions of sermons, blogs), this article presents the constructions of the sacrifice and its past and current interpretations, the divergent positions on its future (complete or partial restoration, cancellation of this ritual) and the types of arguments associated with each of these positions.
