    Cette étude qualitative à visée interprétative descriptive explore la manière dont les patients perçoivent et vivent la compassion dans les soins de santé. À travers deux groupes de discussion, les participants ont identifié des comportements et attitudes associés, ou non, à des soins empreints de compassion, mobilisant à la fois la dimension cognitive (comment la compassion est reconnue et interprétée) et la dimension émotionnelle (comment elle est ressentie et vécue). Ces perceptions ont été illustrées par des exemples concrets tirés de rencontres cliniques.L’analyse thématique a révélé que la compassion s’exprime par des gestes relationnels, une communication respectueuse et une reconnaissance sincère. Bien que ces résultats confirment les recherches antérieures sur les effets des comportements et du langage compassionnels, l’étude met également en lumière des écarts persistants entre les pratiques professionnelles et les perceptions des patients. Une contribution clé de cette recherche réside dans la mise en évidence d’une dynamique réciproque entre patients et soignants. Cette perspective enrichit les modèles existants en y intégrant une dimension éthique et émotionnelle fondée sur la reconnaissance mutuelle. L’étude souligne également l’importance d’intégrer le savoir expérientiel des patients dans les pratiques de soins et appelle à une transformation des approches cliniques et pédagogiques vers un modèle de soins plus humaniste et co-construit.
