Anette Rose is a Berlin-based artist. She received her MFA in 1997 from the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin. Her artistic work revolves around nonverbal body language. In her installations, she uses the strategies of documentary filmmaking. She has been invited to the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen as an “Artist-in-Residence” and was awarded a stipend for fine arts by the Kulturverwaltung des Berliner Senats. She has also received funding to work on installations for her long-term project Encyclopaedia of Manual Operations (ongoing since 2005). Her work has been shown in large exhibitions of contemporary art, including “Between Bodies and Object” in 2006 and “Colossal. Art Fact Fiction” in 2009-2012 (both curated by Jan Hoet). She has also presented her work at anthropology and cultural studies symposia and at gesture studies congresses.
