Abstract
To celebrate RIPME’s anniversary, this article proposes a thematic analysis of all publications from the last 35 years. By combining two bibliometric tools, Bibliographic Coupling Analysis (BCA) and Co-Citation Analysis (CCA), the authors identify five research themes that cover several SME domains: SME business environment, SME growth, SME life cycle, SME management, and SME societal impact. The description of the 14 sub-themes and their theoretical foundations demonstrates the diversity of the journal’s publications and paves the path for future scientific and editorial developments.
