La philosophie ne correspond pas seulement à un travail de déchiffrement du monde. D’une telle démarche les scientifiques s’acquittent avec succès. Aussi n’est-ce pas un hasard, si tous ceux qui consacrent du temps à la réflexion philosophique lui reconnaissent une ambition qui dépasse celle consistant seulement à faire progresser la connaissance. Il n’y a de philosophie que parce qu’il y a du « jeu » dans l’Être. Autrement dit, il y est toujours question d’une certaine liberté et d’un certain écart. On peut ainsi se demander si le rôle du philosophe n’est pas avant tout d’être un « témoin ».
Abstract
Philosophy is not solely content with deciphering the world. Scientists do that well. Hence it is not by chance that all those who give their time to philosophical reflection acknowledge in it an ambition that transcends the mere progress of knowledge. There is philosophy only because there is “play” in Being. In other words, there is invariably question in it of a certain freedom and of a certain distance. One may accordingly ask if the role of the philosopher is not above all to be a “witness”.
