La figure de l'Autre est étudiée à travers trois oeuvres qui appartiennent à divers registres. Il s'agit d'analyser la fonction de l'Autre dans chacune de ces oeuvres et de manière plus large d'analyser le statut particulier de renonciation poétique. Considérant que l'altérité est à la source de tout acte d'écriture chez facques Brault, l'adresse à l'Autre aura donc des incidences sur la conception du langage, de l'écriture ou de l'amour. Mais cette parole, qu 'on a qualifiée de "fraternelle " et qui privilégie le style épistolaire, a peut-être pour objet véritable l'absence de l'Autre.

The figure of the Other will here be studied in three texts belonging to different stylistic levels in order to examine its function and to analyze, more generally, the status of poetic enunciation. Taking into considering that otherness is at the heart of Jacques Brault's work, the reference to the Other will thus have its implications for the conception of language, of writing and of love. Yet this "parole" that we have qualified as " fraternal " and that favors the epistolary style, has perhaps as its true object the absence of the Other.
