A commercial sample of red clover seed, as a rule, shows a very great variation as to the color of the individual seeds; some seeds are of a bright yellow color and others of a deep purple color. Between these colors there are all shades and gradations, from a yellow with just a little dark showing, to others with enough of the dark color to have a variegated appearance, usually with a marked polarity as to the distribution of the different colors.
