This study analyzes the changes in space-use in downtown Regina from 1957 to 1985, the functional and spatial changes, and the pertinent growth and decline trends of the area. The time-sequence is divided into four intervals, as data permitted: 1957 to 1963, 1963 to 1970, 1970 to 1976 and 1976 to 1985. The methods adopted were the examination of data on floor space and number of establishments of ten space-use categories, and the compilation of maps which showed the extent of the growth and decline and the changing concentration and dispersion of the functions.
