Starting in 2016, in the Côtes d'Armor district, in French Brittany, two natural resources extraction project face strong local mobilizations. The first one is the Loc-Envel mining project, in the countryside, and the second one is a shell sand extraction licence, on the coast. Although those two struggles are rather close to each other, they take different shapes : while the mobilization against the Loc-Envel mining project takes the form of a flexible coalition, the one against the shell sand extraction is structured in a coalition organisation (Staggenborg, 1986). How can we explain these differences in such a small area ? In order to answer this question, this article looks at the role of local heritages and framing in the shaping of environmental conflicts. Thereby, we find a counter-expert approach on the coast and a territorialized one in the countryside, while the criticism of extractivisme (Bednik, 2016) remains marginalized.

This article is based on the ongoing writing of a novel. Set on the coastline of Brittany, France, the book explores the ocean as a living environment. While I focus primarily on humans, oceanographers and divers, I intend to give other-than-human beings an essential role. Delving into the examples of northern gannets, grey seals and planktonic species, I seek to understand what determines nonhumans' representation as characters in the narrative, actants of ecosystems or presences in the chosen environment. As we question whether to respect or transcend the limits of our knowledge of animals, we will see that zoopoetics teaches us as much about the structuring of our own mind and about what we expect from a story as about animal lives themselves.

AbstractThe medieval landscape seems like a particularly interesting theme from which to study the ways in which the 19th century projected itself onto the Middle Ages : either empty, erratic or incomplete, depending on the source, the landscape invites creative reconstructions. Marchangy, one of the promoters of a descriptive literature that puts in place a medieval environment with no real historical ambition, rebuilds the medieval landscape by taking as his starting point a bibliography that is as gigantic as it is eclectic. He then leaves his imagination free reign to fill in the gaps left by the documentary lacunae. A romantic aesthetic thus arises from his work which may still influence our own vision of the Middle Ages.

The impact of located pollution on aquatic phytocénoses is studied around 12 cities discharge. Nine of them are fitted out purification plant. The sampling method is based on consecutive segments from upstream to downstream. On each sector, vegetation records are realized in homogeneous water runoff facies, which are characterized by physical factors as well as water value measures. The whole discharge leads globally to an increase of conductivity, ammonium amount, nitrates and orthophosphates. The consequence of that is a decrease of Callitriche hamulata and Myriophyllum alterniflorum phytocénoses, a development of Ranunculus peltatus, Callitriche platycarpa and cryptogams species like Leptodictyum riparium or Melosira sp.A Component Principal Analysis applied on data, distinguishes phytocénoses belonging to upstream sectors (Scapania undulata, Chiloscyphus polyanthus) from the ones of discharges (Callitriche platycarpa, Leptodictyum riparium, Melosira sp.).A Canonical Correspondence Analysis validates the impact of physico-chemical water quality on vegetation. Conductivity, ammonium amount, nitrates and orthophosphates become more preponderant in comparison with physical environments usually discriminant for phytocénoses installation in Limousin rivers.
