This article examines the impact of emerging technologies on training professions, with a particular focus on the adaptation of the professionalization of educational engineers and adult trainers since 2019. The article demonstrates how economic and political changes have rapidly altered the nature of work in this field, forcing companies in a competitive environment to develop the digital skills of in-service trainers and those of students graduating from university. Based on a multimodal engineering model incorporating a variety of teaching practices, virtual reality and artificial intelligence, the text presents the action strategy and problem-solving implemented in a master’s degree course in France to manage this race to the top, while strengthening the quality of digital uses and remaining consistent with the skills at the heart of the professions involving interaction with others for which students are destined.

Psychiatry has powerfully influenced how mental health issues are conceptualised and addressed internationally. Many people report benefits from mental health assessment and treatment, but other individuals report being harmed by the mental health system. In this regard, mental health services are distinct from other areas of health care. For example, no other area of medicine has an equivalent of a psychiatric survivor movement. This article identifies ten embedded assumptions within psychiatry, which may account for some of these negative experiences. They are myths, in the sense of being beliefs which are widely held, often un-noticed and un-challenged, and routinely applied as if universally true despite being either wholly untrue or only sometimes true. They are also harmful, both in creating direct damage and in consuming patient, clinician, and societal resources which could be better spent in other ways. The myths are: Mental health problems are individual; Mental ill-health is fundamentally biological; A clinician knows what is in the patient’s best interests; A clinician can predict the patient’s future; Diagnosis is fact; Treatment is always justified; Patients need to be trained for social roles; Side effects are peripheral; Improvement is always due to treatment; and Supporting recovery is ‘business as usual’. Approaches to developing new knowledge about mental health are then proposed: learning from people living with mental health issues and not using services; developing a salutogenic knowledge base about wellness to balance our current pathogenic knowledge base about illness; and using standpoint epistemologies to develop more inclusive approaches to knowledge creation.

This paper examines transhumanist communication through the analysis of The Fable of the Dragon-Tyrant by Nick Bostrom. Philosopher of the posthuman, the author uses the literary text to illustrate the ideological debate which opposes on the one hand a strong enthusiasm for technoscientific progress, and on the other hand the fear linked, at the same time, to the loss of control of human on its creations and the disappearance of conventional ethical benchmarks. Partly taking up the model of utopian construction, the author polarizes and reduces the advent of the posthuman to the virtuous. The analysis proposed here is that of the narrative of the transhumanist rhetoric developed by Bostrom and the idealization of his intellectual project. The reading of the main scenes of The Fable highlights the levers of the author’s narrative strategy as well as the moral and social issues of a potential evacuation of part of the human condition: aging, mortality.

In 2023, la Maison MONA, a cultural non-profit organization, launched an initiative on Linked Open Data (LOD) in the public art sector. Meant to explore the uses and possibilities of LOD, this project will identify current initiatives, while focusing on the needs and challenges specific to the public art sector. It also aims at raising awareness among artists and cultural workers about best practices in the structuring and use of cultural data. The issue “Towards a Digital Commons of Public Art” documents the progress of this project. This first article presents its genesis and objectives, before discussing its cornerstone, the Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia platforms.
