In the Algerian context, certain public speeches have sparked strong controversies, particularly those directed against the Amazigh heritage. These statements fuel identity tensions and contribute to the construction of stigmatizing representations. The present article proposes an analysis of a corpus of political statements of a hateful nature, disseminated mainly on digital media and social networks, by mobilizing the tools of discourse analysis from a praxematic perspective. It examines the discursive strategies used to designate the Amazighs as a threatening otherness and shows how digital virality contributes to the trivialization and legitimization of this type of discourse.

Soil degradation by water erosion is a natural phenomenon that can be amplified by anthropogenic actions. The consequences of this phenomenon are harmful and can harm the intrinsic characteristics of the soil, and lead to its disappearance in certain cases. For mapping the erosion hazard upstream of Nahr el Kalb watershed, we have adopted a hierarchical approach, called MESALES, that combines the weighted parameters of erosion (land use, slope, soil erodibility and climate) using GIS. The soil erodibility was calculated from the equation of Wischmeier et Smith (1960; 1978) to take account of the specific environmental features. The results of this work show the predominant role of plant cover. 67% of the study area is undergoing strong and very strong erosion, mainly in sectors of either degraded plant cover or no plant cover. The overall accuracy of the model and the Kappa index resulting from it are estimated at 84% and 80% respectively.

The studies described in this paper investigated whether cultural hierarchy plays a moderating role in the association between parental autonomy support and child psychosocial adjustment, employing samples presenting a wide range of cultural variability (parents born in 71 different nations). The participants’ cultural backgrounds, based on the parents’ birth country, were rated in terms of emphasis on hierarchical power using Schwartz’s dimensional coding system. Structural equation modelling analyses revealed no moderation effect of cultural hierarchy on the relation between parental autonomy support and child outcomes, with the exception of the relation between parental autonomy support and adolescents’ autonomous self-regulation. As expected, parental autonomy support and cultural hierarchy were significantly and negatively correlated. Parental autonomy support was often associated with indicators of youth psychosocial adjustment, whereas cultural hierarchy was generally unrelated to adjustment. These results support self-determination theory’s position on the universal benefits of autonomy support.

With extremely different federal, national and local situations, it is interesting to note that some public institutions - universities, museums, research centres, associations - are doing their best to integrate staff and members of the public who are excluded from their activities. Transnational practices and knowledge are tending to emerge from the perspective of Agenda 21 for culture, cultural rights and the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

What does the philosophy of Jacques Derrida (1930–2004) have to do with the archival community’s recent turn to critical theory? This article proposes that Derrida’s philosophy worked at critical theory’s edges. His much-commented Archive Fever exemplifies Derrida’s longstanding personal and political (post-colonial) critique of the concepts of shelter, home, and belonging and with the presumptions of social, linguistic, and territorial sovereignty. These preoccupations underlie Derrida’s diagnosis of a fever – of an unhappiness or malaise – at the scene of writing/archiving.

This article discusses the advantages of using an action-based approach and textual genres for teaching and learning French as a foreign language. I also hope to demonstrate the importance of fully understanding a genre before teaching how to reproduce it, especially if the adopted approach is to incite action in a foreign language. To do this, I will analyse the textual genre “trip itinerary” and, beginning with observations of many texts of the same genre, I will devise a didactic model, such as the one proposed by Schneuwly and Dolz (2004). The underlying theory of this study is based on the recommendations of the Common European Framework of Reference for the use of the action-based approach and on the works of Schneuwly and Dolz (2004) and Bronckhart (1999, 2004, 2006) for the production of a didactic model. This model may be defined as a summary of the characteristics of the teachable dimensions of texts sharing the same genre.

The debate on the rural society has always taken some place in some literature and discussing papers, for the fact that some international institutions and organisms have, already, warned about the disastrous situations of the rural spaces, mainly the question of rural poverty, unemployment, precarity, famines, social exclusion, poor social conditions of life and living, and principally, the lack of opportunities to undertake a serious launch of economic development projects, in order to boost the growth and the evolution of such areas to better places and more profitable conditions. It is known that the handling of any subject concerning rural areas is mainly linked to the behavior of the agricultural sector, but also, other professional activities. Our concern is to study how the rural population and actors are dealing with the governmental decision to undertake a wide program to develop the rural regions, called the revival of the rural development, knowing the fact that such population has suffered, for a long time, from the marginalization and exclusion, and voluntary lack of serious projects which has resulted to deteriorating economic and social conditions of life.
