Based on ethnographic data collected on the establishment of call centres in France and the Maghreb by a French insurance group, the article addresses the notion of 'voice', as an object and an analytical tool, to reveal the mechanisms for legitimizing the call centre workers' voice. It shows that the pursuit of an objective of economic profitability of the interaction through the professionalization, standardization, and delocalization of the employees' voice does not produce the expected effects. Phenomena of discrimination and domination act through and on these voices, inseparable from the social spaces in which they are produced and heard.

This paper reviews four quantitative and mixed-methods research projects focused on both the problems, challenges and needs of young people under protection in their transition to adulthood, as well as the actions developed to foster their social inclusion. Based on the principal conclusions of these studies, the main objective of this transversal synthesis is to provide relevant information about the synergies, contradictions and dilemmas of the employed approaches for the transition to adulthood of young people leaving the child protection system. This information is organized around a series of nodal points focused on both the analyzed reality and the answers available for guiding future action in this regard. The results highlight the relevance of positive approaches in intervention, the search for autonomy and training in competencies, gender differences in the response to intervention, the need to address the significant school dropout rate, the dilemma of intervention with and from the family, as well as the migratory challenge. The accompanying social policies, specifically the knowledge exchange processes developed between public institutions, social entities and universities, also provide a reference.

In the early nineties, parallel to the increasing integration processes of the European Union, realized through the formation of a uniform common internal market and the conclusion of the treaty of Maastricht of the formation of the European Union, systemic reforms were also taking place in Poland and the other countries of Middle-East Europe. Their substance was transformation of the economies - which up to the present were guided centrally - into market economies. At the same time Poland and the other countries of Middle-East Europe made efforts to come into closer economic cooperation with European Union. An important role in speeding up the economic growth of Poland and the other countries of Middle-East Europe, besides internal financial means, play such sources as external financing, in the form of profitable credits, and also the opening of ready markets.

In the introductory remarks of this article the authors examine the birth of the newly industrialized countries and the emergence of a new international division of labor. After stressing the two modes of the industrial strategy followed by these countries, the authors look at two newly industrialized countries (Brazil and South Korea). These specific countries due to the interplay of both, objective factors (natural resources, location, manpower...) and policy choices have followed divergent development strategies. The authors conclude that it is not so much the classical policy dilemma import substitution vs expert promotion that will determine the future of these semi-industrialized countries, than their ability to master the technological know-how that sustains their industrial development. The new technological trends in robotics and telematics constitute powerful factors of relocation which may threaten the long run growth prospects of the semi-industrialized countries.
