Publishing house Rodrigol's aesthetic choices denote a keen interest in formal experimentation, as well as in pop culture and triviality. This article first analyzes three works published by Rodrigol: Patrice Lessard's Je suis Sébastien Chevalier, Claudine Vachon's À l'oral ou à l'oreille and Franz Schürch's Chaos = zéro mort, encore, 1,2,3. It also addresses the significance of this aesthetic stance in the current Québécois literary landscape by comparing it to the hallmarks of past literary movements (“ti-pop,” counterculture, formalism) and to the work of contemporary authors attached to publishers who share Rodrigol's vision and who have defended its relevance in essays and articles.
