Learning to read and write requires explicit teaching of knowledge and strategies. However, teacher training in Senegal is uneven in this respect. From a professional development perspective, our research team led a study on the issue of ongoing literacy training. Consequently, a case study of two primary school teachers in Dakar led us to discuss the needs of these teachers to better guide their practices according to the components of the interconnected model of professional development.

A cultural action that is positive, enthusiastic, marked by good physical health and triumphant youth is being consolidated in Algeria. This growth, which is based on new training in sociocultural community development, is part of a broader movement of civil society. Indeed, since the adoption in 2023 of a bill to set up mechanisms for an active and effective associative movement within society, the law on associations is being harmonized with the Article 53 of the new Algerian constitution, under which the right to create associations is guaranteed and can be exercised by a simple declaration, associations which may be dissolved only by a court decision. If the social aspect still prevails over the cultural aspect of sociocultural community development, everything is being set up so that it can play its full role in the development of the country by 2030-2035.

This interview between Gilles Nadeau and Serge Daneault explores key issues in palliative care through the lenses of existential suffering, spirituality, and the evolving role of medicine. The discussion highlights the growing need to preserve a human-centered approach amid an increasingly technical and standardized healthcare system. The authors emphasize the impact of fear, loneliness, and the search for meaning at the end of life, stressing the importance of community engagement and volunteer support. They also critique the modern medical model, where economic imperatives and administrative constraints limit meaningful patient-caregiver interactions. Finally, they advocate for reintegrating philosophical and spiritual reflection into medical practice to better address the deeper dimensions of human suffering.

This text examines the tendency towards conformism and social hypocrisy, which form the indispensable breeding ground for any totalitarian drift. Totalitarian power dictates new codes of social conduct. Ideology freezes discourse in a paranoiac collective delusion. Sectarian reactions are all in the name of “virtues”: the “common good”, “altruism”, “responsibility”, activating the narcissistic ideal of the savior in the human psyche. All these supposed virtues have one and the same function: to make the citizen feel guilty for never being “responsible enough”, never being “altruistic enough”, never sacrificing “enough” for the “Common Good”. Thus, the citizen will find his comfort and narcissistic gratification in the glory of participating in the “Common Good”, for which he is required to sacrifice himself. The article analyzes the initiation ritual as a means of cementing shared guilt and alienating the individual into a collective delusion, in which the aim is to silence in the name of virtue.

This article explores the concept of "de-writing," which involves suspending writing, diverting it in order to better understand it in a research-creation approach. De-writing is then considered as a new regime of the act of writing, particularly in connection with digital media culture. The article analyzes the mediatic and ontological change of writing through the work of Friedrich Kittler. It examines how writing in collaboration with the machine calls into question the notions of originality and the primacy of the human in creativity. As an epistemological and performative model, the article introduces the idea of "misuse," where a use of a tool, format, or medium deviating from the use initially intended, allows to explore new modes of writing.

Background: We aimed to describe the immediate and medium-term effects of training in the role of change agent (CA) on: 1) the perceived competence to act as a CA; 2) the acquisition of skills required for the role; and 3) the anticipated and actual implementation of CA actions in real-world settings by professionals. Methods: Using a summative evaluation design and a self-administered online questionnaire, we collected data at three time points: before the training, immediately after, and six months later. We analyzed the data using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The 39 participants, aged 25 to 44, were mostly women. For both perceived competence to act as a CA and the acquisition of the required skills, the proportion of professionals responding positively increased significantly immediately after the training and decreased six months later. Although professionals intended to act as CAs right after the training, their actions had not materialized within the following six months. Conclusion: Support measures may help sustain the effects of the training in the medium term and encourage real-world implementation of change agent actions.
