The need to make health services more patient-centered is the subject of many conversations about the reforms needed for a more adequate, humane and respectful health service. This article begins with a historical perspective of the history of medicine, medical ethics and the social relationship to narrative, before discussing the difficulty of applying these notions to the field of transplantation and also the gaps in their implementation. Finally, it explores how integrating creative writing workshops into the care pathway could be helpful for a patient-centered approach.

Students who are bullied may experience several academic and psychosocial difficulties. The school psychologist is called upon to support these young people through use of prevention and intervention methods. This study collects school psychologists' reported experiences regarding their involvement in general and homophobic bullying. The results reveal that the participants intervene against these problems. However, they did not receive any training on homophobic bullying during their university studies and little as continuing education. The discussion presents future research directions to foster the development of professional knowledge in school psychology.

This article presents the theoretical background, methodology and results of a participatory action research aimed at understanding how professionals working in a child psychiatry clinic build their interprofessional collaboration practice, the context in which this practice is built, and how these professionals can, by reflecting on their practice, improve the resolution of therapeutic impasses. Through a qualitative analysis, based on a thematic analysis methodology of data collected during team reflection periods and a group interview, we identified seven determinants of the interprofessional collaboration process grouped into three themes: 1) commitment, 2) interactions and 3) the practice context. Six determinants favour collaborative interprofessional work while one determinant acts as an obstacle. Evidencing these determinants during the course of research had a positive impact on the interprofessional collaboration process and the therapeutic impasses resolution. The research strengths and limitations, consequences for practice and avenues for future research are presented.

This study examines the long-term effects of a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for PTSD and imagery rehearsal therapy (IRT) on PTSD symptoms, sleep, quality of life, and daily functioning. Forty-two sexual assault victims with PTSD were randomly assigned to the CBT alone or RRIM conditions, and were assessed at pre- and post-treatment, as well as at 3-, 6-, and 12-month follow-up. Results support long-term efficacy for most variables and suggest that therapeutic gains are sustained within 12 months after treatment, except for quality of life, sleep quality and disruptive nocturnal behaviors.

The purpose of this article is to banish the label « unplaceable », easily assigned to teenagers in child welfare service. In fact, this public is difficult to work with because this is a complex clinic. They are called by a variety of terms in France or Canada: « young delinquents », « multi-issue teenagers », « troubled teenagers »… Based on a clinical case, we question the psychological working of a teenager called « unplaceable ». We think that the meeting between these teenagers and a professional is necessary. Thanks to a personal involvement supported by an institutional thirdness, the teenagers can throw the label « unplaceable ».

Fifteen caregivers of someone going through a first episode of major depression took part in a semi-structured interview designed to describe the needs, challenges and positive aspects of their experience. Almost all of the participants identified positive and negative aspects to their experience. Some caregivers have misconceptions that can impact the relationship or the recovery process. Several caregivers would have liked to have professional support to help them cope with the situation. Additional efforts must be invested in order to better understand their reality.

For a doctoral psychology research project conducted in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, we hypothesized that adolescents rendered vulnerable by their individual, familial, institutional and societal backgrounds might have a psychic functioning dominated by the pursuit of an ideal object or idealized figure. This article presents the findings of this research project, which led to the identification of a range of adolescent radicalities encompassing three distinct forms : transient, traumatophilic and mortifying. These radicalities are presented alongside the clinical account of three adolescents involved in forms of extremist ideology (religious, conspiratorial, political). We discuss potential approaches for the care and support of these adolescent figures of radicality, with key proposals being a despecification of the treatment for such adolescents and the creation of a multidisciplinary care environment.
