In many of his films, David Cronenberg transforms original works to suit a different destination and depicts the transition from literary to cinematic: in Crash (1996), which loses its exclamation point on screen (Crash!, James G. Ballard, 1973), James, no longer a writer but a director, remains a self-reflection of the author. In A History of Violence (2005), from the opening sequence, the framing reveals a car in the foreground while the third plane is composed of windows and doors echoing the shape of comic book panels; the camera's movement, following the car, mimics a gaze scanning space while reading images. However, it's not really the connection with the comic book that interests us here, but a significant sound close-up. This occurs in the confrontation sequence between Tom Stall and Carl Fogarty. From inside the house, as Edie and Jack have returned, leaving Tom alone against the Philadelphia gangsters, fly sounds can be heard behind the windows. They appear four times. However, they are not tied to any focus: neither the characters in the house, positioned in front of another window, nor those remaining in the garden. So why invoke The Fly (1986) in A History of Violence?

In Europe, America and Asia, research into the uses of digital educational technologies and their contributions to teaching and learning has flourished, while in Sub-Saharan Africa, with the exception of a few rare studies in educational science, research has long neglected these uses. The literature highlights shortcomings in terms of access to equipment and interest in certain technical devices. The most widely adopted technology is the cell phone, which is used for both personal and school purposes (Maïdakouale and Fagadé, 2022). This study aims to support the integration of educational digital technologies among a young population already possessing non-formal digital skills. We study the social logics structuring the uses that, themselves, feed them (Paquienséguy, 2012). We also highlight the "new" school sociabilities that these uses bring. As Leveratto and Leontsini (2008) point out, interest in the educational uses of the Internet also requires us to explore its playful and social dimensions, since social availability determines personal commitment to intensive use. We used qualitative and quantitative methods to survey 292 students in Burkina Faso, Gabon and Niger. We show that socio-technical and economic factors are involved in accompanying the digital revolution in these universities from behind the scenes.

The author discusses the recovery of payment for disability under workers' compensation legislation in Québec, English Canada and the United States, with a focus on Québec. Ms. Lippel looks at both physical and psychological disabilities attributable to psychological stress in the workplace. She shows that while many American states have been compensating for both types of disability for several years, Canadian tribunals are only starting to recognize such claims. Québec is at the forefront, in Canada, in recognizing psychological disability related to chronic workplace stress, but lags behind other provinces when it comes to heart attack claims. Recognition of claims related to chronic workplace stress is still difficult to obtain. Workers must demonstrate that they are physically or psychologically disabled, and that their disability is most probably attributable to workplace stressors.

We are grateful to the author, who has kindly accepted to give us her timely comments, firstly, on the concept of good faith as regards insurance contracts and, secondly, on the concept’s limitation, as reflected in a number of court decisions. She briefly describes the notion of good faith and its contrary, bad faith. She then cites some examples of insurance cases which have tested the limits of good faith with regard to: (1) the initial representation of the risks; (2) the insurance claims in dispute; and (3) the insurer’s duty to defend. The author also glances at the policyholder’s right to claim extra-judicial fees in any action against the insurer to recover for any loss covered under the insurances contract.

A growing number of studies have been dedicated to understanding psychological safety at work, identifying the factors that contribute to it and examining its impact on individuals, teams and organizations. However, to our knowledge, there is no documentation in French that provides an overview of the existing literature on psychological safety at work. This article, with a theoretical perspective, therefore aims to fill this gap by introducing an overview of current knowledge on the context and definitions of psychological safety, its benefits, its determinants, and both the favourable and unfavourable conditions for psychological safety. This article also suggests practical intervention approaches and proposes new research avenues of research regarding psychological safety at work.

This article looks at the territorial effects of the participatory turn in cultural policies. This turn is reinforced by the general evolution of governance models that attempt to include the increasingly assertive aspirations of citizens to take part in the various actions and decisions that concern them. We examine the case of the Saint-Michel neighbourhood in Montreal, where a communalist collective action is being set up, combined with an entrepreneurial action linked to the establishment of Cirque du Soleil in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is the scene of a revitalisation process that gives rise to a cultural commons. The case of Saint-Michel allows us to see the contribution of the communalist cultural approach to the improvement of neighbourhood living environments.

Since 1970, the Arctic Winter Games (AWG) have brought together young people from the circumpolar world. A meeting of sport and culture, they promote sharing and exchange among young people, as well as Aboriginal cultural and sports practices (Dene Games, Arctic sports). They intend to participate in building an Arctic community. This article proposes a reflection on this event and shows that this type of encounter, beyond its sporting aspect, can be a lever of social, cultural and educational development for a territory. Therefore, this text consists of a question of the contemporary sports movement. Questioning the public value of AWG, it discusses the paradigm on which international sporting events are built today.
